Juhan Aguraiuja to become the Chairman of the Management Board of Enefit Green
The Supervisory Board of Enefit Green has appointed Juhan Aguraiuja, who until now has headed Adven in the Baltics, as the new Chairman of the Management Board, effective from 14 October. Aavo Kärmas, the current head of Enefit Green, will step down from his post as of 1 July in agreement with the Supervisory Board.
Until Juhan Aguraiuja assumes his position, Andres Maasing, the current member of the Management Board and Head of Development, has been appointed acting Chairman of the Management Board from 1 July by a decision of the Supervisory Board.
According to Andrus Durejko, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Enefit Green, the Supervisory Board has found in Juhan Aguraiuja a strong leader for the company to tackle the upcoming challenges in the next growth phase. “The demand for introducing competitive renewable energy and new domestic power plants to the market remains high in both Estonia and neighboring countries. Juhan and his team's task is to adapt Enefit Green's operations to the rapidly changing market environment and find solutions to provide customers with competitively priced clean electricity. This should ensure production that is sustainable, stable, and economically attractive to the company's many shareholders,’ Durejko explained
According to Juhan Aguraiuja, the decision to leave Adven did not come easily. “During my two years at Adven, we made a successful exit from the energy crisis, adapted to the new energy landscape, and restructured the company in a way that ensures future success. I leave with peace of mind knowing that the business is thriving, the excellent management team will continue to steer the organisation and that sustainable projects and processes have been established for the future,’ Aguraiuja noted.
He thanks the Supervisory Board of Enefit Green for their trust. “Enefit Green is a company with a strong investor community and a dedicated and capable team. As chairman of the Management Board of Enefit Green, my objective is to continue to develop and grow the company in a sustainable manner. The renewable energy sector is on the threshold of the next stage of development where it is essential to combine wind and solar energy technologies with storage and hydrogen solutions to ensure a stable and reliable energy supply,’ Aguraiuja said.
Enefit Green will also be seeking a new member of the Management Board and CFO, as Veiko Räim has decided not to apply for an extension of his term of office at the end of his mandate. Veiko Räim’s contract is valid until 24 September. He has been a member of the Management Board and CFO of Enefit Green since 2017.
“I would like to thank Veiko for his long-term and important work that has helped the company grow from Finland to Poland. Under his leadership, we have built strong investor relations and a professional financial team,’ Durejko said. Juhan Aguraiuja has been a member of the Management Board of Adven Eesti AS and the head of Baltic Business of the Adven Group since 2022. Before joining Adven, he held different positions at Danpower Eesti AS: he served as member of the Management Board from 2020 to 2022 in technology and business development, and prior to that, he held the positions of technical manager, head of project development and project engineer.
He holds a master’s degree in thermal power engineering from the Tallinn University of Technology. Aguraiuja owns 825 shares in Enefit Green through his company AJ Energia OÜ.
The Management Board of Enefit Green will temporarily continue to operate with three members. In addition to Andres Maasing and Veiko Räim, the Management Board includes Innar Kaasik who oversees production.
