Sumitomo Corporation (SC), the integrated trading and business investment company, and Enefit Green, a largest wind energy company in the Baltics, have signed an agreement, which outlines the start of strategic partnership for developing the first offshore wind farm in the Gulf of Riga in the Baltic Sea.

Having assessed the situation on its core markets, the fit of the company's near-term development portfolio and the existing operating portfolio with the current market situation, as well as financing opportunities, Enefit Green has decided to look for opportunities to exit the Finnish market and sell some non-strategic development projects.

The Competition Authority has approved a price cap of €20.06 per megawatt-hour for heat produced from mixed municipal waste at the Iru power plant. This remains the most affordably produced heat energy in Estonia, which is entirely purchased by AS Utilitas for district heating customers in Tallinn and Maardu.

The Supervisory Board of Enefit Green has appointed Argo Rannamets as a Member of the Management Board. Rannamets will take up the role of the Chief Financial Officer, responsible for the company’s daily financial management, financing opportunities, and investment planning. His three-year term begins January 31, 2025.

On September 5th, Enefit Green opened the Silalė II wind park, its first new wind farm in Lithuania in several years. The company is close to completing the Akmenė wind farm and progressing with the Kelmė I and II projects. Additionally, all 38 turbines have been installed at the Sopi-Tootsi wind farm in Estonia.

Construction work at Enefit Green's Sopi-Tootsi wind park has reached a significant milestone with the first three turbines beginning to produce green electricity. So far, 28 out of the park's 38 turbines have been installed, with production starting gradually. The installation of the remaining turbines is progressing according to plan.

Enefit Green and Swedbank have signed an amendment to their loan agreement, increasing the loan amount taken in 2022 from 50 million euros to 100 million euros. Additionally, the loan maturity has been extended to December 2028.

The Supervisory Board of Enefit Green has appointed Juhan Aguraiuja, who until now has headed Adven in the Baltics, as the new Chairman of the Management Board, effective from 14 October. Aavo Kärmas, the current head of Enefit Green, will step down from his post as of 1 July in agreement with the Supervisory Board.

The construction work for the Tolpanvaara wind farm has been completed and all 13 wind turbines are producing electricity. In total, the farm produces nearly 250 gigawatt-hours of green electricity per year, which covers the annual consumption of nearly 40,000 Finnish households and helps cover the ever-increasing demand for renewable energy.

Enefit Green has begun the transport of wind turbines from the port of Paldiski to the largest wind farm in the Baltic States – the Sopi-Tootsi wind farm. Impressive road trains carrying wind turbine components can be sighted as they travel from Paldiski to Tootsi at night until mid-July.

Enefit Green erected the first 230-metre wind turbines in Kelme I wind farm (80 MW) located in Western Lithuania. A total of 14 wind turbines will be installed, which will start producing about 270 gigawatt-hours of renewable energy per year.

This week, Enefit Green has begun transporting wind turbine components from the Port of Klaipeda to the Kelme wind farm being developed in Lithuania. The transportation takes place at night to minimise disruptions.

Enefit Green is building the most powerful wind and solar farm in the Baltic States in the municipality of Põhja-Pärnumaa. Currently, all land improvement systems, roads, and crane platforms, as well as almost all foundations for the wind turbines have been completed. The Ministry of Climate has approved the report on the environmental impact assessment of the North-Western Estonian offshore wind farm being developed by Enefit Green, on the basis of which the development of the wind farm can move forward.

Today afternoon Enefit Green received information that a turbine had collapsed in Akmene Wind Farm Lithuania which had been under construction. Nobody got hurt in the accident.

Today, on 6 January, Enefit Green signed agreements with SEB and the Nordic Investment Bank in the amount of €325 million. This is Enefit Green's largest ever borrowing of funds, which will be used to finance their ongoing investment program.

On Friday, 30 December, Enefit Green made an investment decision to start building a solar park in the industrial area of the Estonia Mine in Ida-Virumaa. The solar park with a capacity of nearly 3 megawatts is the first in Estonia to be located on a platform built from waste rock.

Today, on 28 December, Enefit Green signed loan agreements with SEB and Swedbank for the refinancing of its loans due in 2023, worth a total of €100 million. The loans concluded with both banks have a five-year term in the amount of €50 million.

Enefit Green starts the construction of Sopi-Tootsi Wind Farm, establishing the largest wind energy area in Estonia. Construction of a new wind farm in Lithuania will also begin. Enefit Green will invest nearly half a billion euros in these renewable energy projects.

This week, Enefit Green’s new Šilalė II Wind Farm delivered its first amount of electricity to the grid. Four of the farm’s dozen wind turbines have been started, and the remaining ones will gradually begin generating electricity for the grid over time.

Enefit Green signed an agreement to acquire Tootsi wind farm project from Eesti Energia and plans to build the wind farms in Tootsi and Sopi at the same time. Põhja-Pärnumaa will thus become the largest wind energy production area in Estonia, doubling Estonia's current wind energy output. According to the plans, the wind farms will start producing electricity at the end of 2024.

Enefit Green is building a hybrid park generating electricity from wind and solar in Lüganuse Municipality, Ida-Virumaa, to be launched next year. Such hybrid solution for large-scale electricity production is the first of its kind in Estonia. Today at noon, the cornerstone of the first wind turbine foundation in Purtse will be laid.

On Tuesday, 28 June, the cornerstone was placed for Enefit Green's Tolpanvaara Wind Farm in northern Finland. According to the plans, the farm with its 13 wind turbines will start producing green electricity at the end of next year.

Enefit Green will build its largest solar park together with a wind farm near Purtse in Lüganuse parish, Estonia. It is the first large-scale wind and solar hybrid solution in Estonia.
